Badges and lanyards: a different design for each client

An event badge is a personalized name badge that attendees receive at check-in after their e-ticket has been scanned. Through its design, color, and lanyard, it clearly identifies who they are and which attendee group they belong to.
One client wants a subtle badge for a corporate networking event, while the next requires a durable badge for a trade show with two thousand visitors. You don't want to reinvent the wheel for every event, and certainly not discover on the event day that the logo doesn't print properly. Since 1997, Activo has been designing event badges and managing onsite badge distribution.
What changes from one event to another—and what stays the same
The process is always the same: attendees present an e-ticket with a QR code, it is scanned at the entrance, and they receive their badge and lanyard. What changes is the design: the colors, layout, printed information, and the type of lanyard. See e-tickets, badges, and lanyards for the available options.

Because the underlying process remains the same, you can customize the design for each client without affecting the efficiency of onsite operations. That's exactly what you need when you're organizing a dozen events each year.
Branding for every client
The badge design follows the end client's corporate identity, combined with the event theme. The same branding is applied to the event website and the e-ticket, creating a consistent experience from registration through check-in. This approach was used for World of Incentro and the Automotive Expo.
For you, this means you never have to tell a client that something isn't technically possible. Activo works quickly and flexibly at competitive rates, giving you the freedom to submit competitive proposals.
Making attendee groups visible
At events with speakers, press, exhibitors, and invited guests, badges make the event structure immediately visible. These attendee categories are assigned during registration in the event registration system, not on the event day itself. When an e-ticket is scanned, the attendee's category appears instantly so the correct badge can be issued.
If your client is organizing a trade show, exhibitors register through the trade show registration system and use the lead scanner to capture visitor contact details themselves, as demonstrated at Exact Live.
Onsite badge distribution
Activo provides staff at the registration desk to handle e-ticket scanning and badge distribution. Each scan takes only a few seconds, preventing queues, and additional scanning stations can easily be added during peak arrival times. See event access control at the venue. Your team doesn't have to stand behind the registration desk.

If you prefer to manage more yourself, there's Activo NEXT: the self-service event platform with support from Activo whenever you need it. Attendee data is processed in compliance with GDPR requirements, meeting the standards expected by clients such as ASML and KPN.
